1. district with own church: in the Anglican, Roman Catholic, and some other churches, a division of a diocese that has its own church and member of the clergy ( often used before a noun )
the parish priest

2. small local government unit: the smallest defined area of local government in rural areas of England, containing a village with its own elected council

3. people of parish: the people who live in a parish ( takes a singular or plural verb )
