1. conjunction of three astronomical objects: the straight-line conjunction or opposition of three astronomical objects such as the Sun, Earth, and Moon

2. pair of connected things: a pair of related things that are either similar or opposite ( formal )

3. poetry unit of two metrical feet: in classical verse, a metrical unit of two feet
