Alfonso II of Aragón (1152-1196), King of Aragón, the son of Ramón Berenguer IV, Count of Barcelona. Alfonso succeeded his father as Count of Barcelona in 1162 and became King of Aragón in 1164. In 1166 he inherited the county of Provence. Alfonso's kingdom was divided after his death however, and Provence was lost to the throne of Aragón.
