Turku, Finland

The port city of Turku lies in south-western Finland, at the mouth of the River Aurajoki, on the Baltic Sea. This is the mildest part of the country, although winter average temperatures are still below freezing. The warm summers and the thousands of islands studding the Baltic Sea towards Sweden make this a popular region for leisure yachting.
