Duomo, Florence

Duomo, Florence
Florence, located in north-central Italy, is the birthplace of the Renaissance. The Renaissance, a period that began around 1300 and lasted for 300 years, produced in Florence some of the greatest artists, writers, and sculptors in history. The eight-sided dome of the cathedral, known as the Duomo, was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and completed in 1436.
