Fulgencio Batista

Cuban president and dictator Fulgencio Batista ruled Cuba both officially and through puppet heads of state from 1933, when he led a military coup as army chief of staff. His government, which was known for its widespread corruption, was overthrown by Fidel Castro in 1959.
