German Destroyer

A destroyer of the German navy flies the German flag. Service in the German military is compulsory for all men 18 years of age or older, for a period of at least 9 months. In the late 1990s German troop strength numbered roughly 370,000, with less than 20 per cent of that in the naval forces.
