Casentino, Italy
Casentino, a region in eastern Tuscany in the province of Arezzo, is situated between the main chain of the Tuscany-Emilio Romagna Appennines (which include Mount Falterona, 1,654 m/5,426 ft, and the Alps of Catenaia, 1,415 m/4,642 ft) to the east, and the Appenines of Pratomagno (1,592 m/5,223 ft) to the west. In the valley, near Stia, are the remains of the Castello of Romena, erected in the 11th century by the counts of Guidi.
