| Ludwig van Beethoven is considered one of the greatest composers in Western music. He wrote symphonies, concertos, chamber music, sonatas, and vocal music. One of his best-known compositions is the Ninth Symphony which ends with a choral setting of Schiller’s Ode to Joy. Beethoven was one of a number of great German composers in the 18th and 19th centuries. | ||||||
