Spain's National Archaeological Museum
A winged statue marks the entrance to Spain’s National Archaeological Museum in the nation’s capital, Madrid. The museum was founded in 1867 according to a decree from Queen Isabella II. The museum occupies the same building as the Biblioteca Nacional de España (The National Library of Spain) and houses collections from prehistory, including dinosaurs and cave paintings, as well as Iberian, Greek, and Egyptian artefacts.
